Earthworm Castings

EARTHWORM CASTINGS
(Certified Organic by ACO)

Earthworm castings are odorless, coffee grounds-like particles produced by our large red worms. The worms
consume and digest their bedding material and feedstock, effectively composting it and adding valuable nutrients. The castings contain no animal manures and no harmful waste products.

RETAIL SALES

Have a small garden center or retail outlet? Offer some 5L & 10L earthworm castings bags for sale to your customers. We will supply you with a laminated sign to hang or post on the shelf with an order of 5 or more cases.

GROWERS & FARMERS

We have had excellent results by spreading a few castings over the seeds when seeding carrots or over the potatoes when planting. A few castings will go a long way and make a big difference in speed and quality of germination and produce.

GROWER

Earthworm castings are a great natural addition to a potting mix when you need that little added boost. You can spread them around the top or incorporate them into the mix at planting. Our Organic Grow On Mix contains castings, but having some extra on hand allows you to add some where needed.

ORGANIC LAWN CARE
Is it a great idea but too expensive?

Not necessarily! A local lawn care provider had a program using 2-3 compost tea applications and ½ bulk bag of castings per acre each year. This provided the bulk of the fertility needs and compared favorably to a Scott’s fertilizer program.

GOLF COURSES & TURF

We’ve seen excellent results with 25% castings 75% sand blended and applied both as a topdressing mix and as a divot mix. The combination mixes very well and there is no need to add extra fertilizers.

Have that section off green #9 that just won’t fill in? Try mixing some seed in with the castings and brushing them in with a broom. See how quickly this will fill in!

Have some tee decks that are really hard packed and the grass just won’t thrive? Try mixing ½ sand and ½ castings, mix in a little seed and see the difference. Put a little extra compost tea on as you swing by and watch your worst tees become some of your best by the end of the season!
